Portable Project's bag... Sac à projets...

This week, I'm making three ''project bags'' for my guild to put on sale at our future local exhibition, which will take place next year. I will make some small projects by then for our boutique. Project bags are my first items.
I chose an assortment of fabrics,  cut into strips 15 '' long and 1 1/2 '' wide by 2 '' wide and arranged them to be pleasing to the eye.

Then, I sewed these strips to each other until  the measure is long enough for my project, once ironed.

Then, I ironed the other side and cut at the desired size

Puis, j'ai bien repassé l'autre côté et coupé à la grandeur voulue.

I make my sandwich for the stitching step

It is a beautiful project to use the fancy stitches of our sewing machine that I do not use (unfortunately) often enough. I had fun at this stage.

The look is just as beautiful inside, once finished.

Here is a close-up of some fancy stitches used. I stitched on the junction of two different fabrics.

Once stitched, I put a  bias  and I add a small handle at each end of the piece.

This is a beautiful project's bag that I would gladly adopt.

And inside, I have sewn at the base of the bag (in this one) 3 big Ziploc type plastic bags to put  my current applique work and tools that I need.

I slip my items in the bag, I close the "Ziploc" and I don't loose my  tools.  Practical and beautiful for a project to bring everywhere. I close everything with a beautiful decorative button and a small nylon hair elastic.
