Baltimore Garden Quilt, outer borders / bordures extérieures

With my home sewing machine, I baste the swags following the design drawn on the back of the fabric

Cut the seam allowance ...

Sew the swags on both sides...

Again, baste the red strip with the home sewing machine and cut the seam allowance...

Sew the swags on both sides...
I'll do that 4 times, without the corners.

I will hand appliqué a flower with stem and leaves at the end of each swag.  All flowers are different.

Already many many stitches done!

  2. I really like your method of basting all the borders down by machine and then cutting them out to turn under.
What a great way to keep everything straight and even!
    Your border fabrics are beautiful!

  3. Thanks for the tutorial. I'm going to do that method when I have a lot to baste. It's going to be a lovely quilt. Thank you for linking to WIPs Be Gone.
