I need slowing down a bit...Je ralentis un peu...

With the arrival of spring and gardening , I have to slow down a bit in the sewing room . Some upcoming events shortly  also ask me some planning. I will do some sewing in the evening only after dinner .

Recently, I finished a few other blocks of the Dear Jane . I see light at the end of the tunnel in the making of this beautiful quilt blocks . I  have now less than 30 to sew . My goal at the beginning of the year was to finish sewing these little blocks. This will be done . The assembly is scheduled for 2015 .

About my quilt '' Alice's Dream'' in paper piecing , the designer sent me a photo of all the blocks placed one beside the other : 54 in total. I have sewn 39 . There are still 15 to sew, some fairly easy and quick to make, some requiring a lot of attention given small parts sewing and mixing colors to meet. Again, I would like to end this year .  I will go on with this one in 2015 too.

Ce sera mes deux projets principaux pour 2015.

This will be my two main projects for 2015.
Here are some pictures of the Dear Jane blocks:

All blocks requesting hand applique are now sewn.  Now, it's only paper pieced blocks.

There are some blocks that have been modified. I started doing hand applique with this quilt and there were two  blocks too complicated for my current knowledge.

And now, gardening time...!

À la prochaine

  1. They look so beautiful! I just think I have to return to my unfinished Jane-quiltblocks..... it is just sad that they have to wait this long for my attention. Your blocks look so great! (i think mine are calling from their box... ;) .....)

  2. You definitely have lots of work ahead of you. Couldn't you sew your Dear Jane blocks together? They don't necessarily have to be in the same order as everyone else's.

    1. This year, one of my goal is to sew all the DJ blocks, because I have 3 quilts in progress at the same time (????) 2 of them are big enough (Dear Jane and Alice's Dream) That's me! But everything is finished. In 2015, my goal will be to put together Dear Jane and Alice quilts mainly.

  3. I really like the fabrics you've chosen for your Dear Jane blocks. All other Dear Janes I've seen have been in Civil War fabrics. It's nice to see a fresh approach.

  4. So many lovely DJ blocks; they all look so fresh and spring looking. I really should try and find my poor wee ones that have disappeared in to the WIP pile. Cheers Glenda

  8. I love the new Dear Jane quilts and sampler quilts in general. Yours looks to be moving right along. Very pretty. Thanks for the dual language. I first pulled out my very rusty high school/college French and then I got to the "second" first paragraph and it took me a second to realize it was in English since I was still in translation mode. I was lazy after that and stuck to the English.

  9. Congrats on being so far along on your Jane quilt. I have finished all the blocks myself. It was a long process, but my skills did improve along the way and I learned some new skills too.

    1. I learned new skills too with this Dear Jane quilt. How to hand applique. My goal for 2015 is to complete the Dear Jane, sandwich, quilting and binding. This year, I only want to finish all the little blocks.

    1. You have a great part in the making of these blocks. Without your website, it's very long to sew only one. Your explanations are useful for me. thanks again!
